Teaching
The University of Bayreuth turns teaching into a research laboratory: it combines computer science, data science, and AI with perspectives from philosophy, law, economics, and the natural sciences. Formats (lectures, seminars, block courses, and project-based labs) range from programming, machine learning, and scientific computing to human-AI interaction, explainability, fairness, responsibility, and regulation. Many courses are taught in English, are interdisciplinary, and are closely linked to ongoing research; guest lectures from academia and industry as well as opportunities for projects, open-source contributions, and theses are included.
The goal: to enable students not only to build AI, but also to use it in a socially responsible manner. RAIS² connects the university and promotes international perspectives. The current teaching program, times, and registration information can be found at Campus-Portal (cmlife).
