Dr. Andreas Sesing-Wagenpfeil von der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg wird als Teil der "Lecture Series on AI in Science and Society" am 04.07.2025 von 14:15–15:45 Uhr in H27 (GW II) einen Vortrag zum Thema "Generative AI from a Legal Perspective: Copyright, Data Protection and obligations under the AI Act" halten.

Abstract: Is artificially generated content protected by Copyright Law, and does the training and/or use of such systems infringe copyrights of third parties? Is there a ‘right to be forgotten’ or a ‘right to correction’ if the output of generative AI contains personal information? Which regulatory boundaries will be in force from August 2, 2025, dealing with ‘general purpose AI’ (GPAI)? This lecture will give an overview about (at least) these questions in the field of Generative AI and will elaborate further on related issues in the field of Copyright Law, Data Protection Law and the forthcoming European Union’s AI Act.
